How is this different from a chatbot or connecting my tools to ChatGPT?

Switchboard brings an engineered system for MSP work: platform-specific skills, vetted playbooks and enforced access controls. We build the integrations, test their behavior and permission boundaries, and check playbook instructions against the tools and data available. Skills handle specific jobs; playbooks guide the investigation, cross-checks and limits of what can be concluded. You can inspect the tool calls behind an answer. Your admin controls who can reach each system, credentials stay server-side, and Switchboard sessions run in isolated environments. Access is read-only today. Any change a platform could make is held back — refused by our server before anything reaches the platform — until a person switches it on, and nothing is switched on today. Your preferred AI client can be your interface to this controlled access; your chosen client’s own data-handling terms still apply.

What about usage and tokens?

Dedicated includes all platforms and all Switchboard usage, with no extra token charges, per-question fees or usage top-ups. Reasonable rate limits per user and platform prevent abuse. Hosted includes up to 5 connected platforms, 50 questions per team per day, 3 concurrent sessions, 5 scheduled report runs per week and refreshes every 6 hours. Both packages process requests privately, with your MSP’s data isolated and no separate token bill. Your own AI client’s subscription is separate.

What can it touch in my environment?

Switchboard sessions and external AI connections have read-only access to your platforms today. Any change a platform could make is held back — refused by our server before anything reaches the platform — until a person switches it on, and nothing is switched on today.

How does it authenticate?

Per-agent access tokens, scoped to what each agent needs and stored server-side in a credential vault. Your credentials never live in the browser. Your team can also use it from their own AI client: they sign in with their MSPStuff account (MFA included) or paste a key they created, and only reach the domains their admin allowed for MCP.

Can my team use it from ChatGPT or Claude instead of your app?

Yes. Every seat includes headless access: connect Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor to one endpoint, sign in, and the same read-only platform tools appear there, plus running and creating reports if the role allows. Your admin decides, per person and per domain, what is reachable that way — included in every seat, no add-on.

What is an MCP server?

MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is the open standard AI assistants use to call tools. An MCP server exposes a system's data as tools an AI can call with your permission. Switchboard is one MSPStuff-hosted MCP server per platform, read-only by default, with every answer traced to the tool call behind it.

Which platforms work today?

How do I know an answer is right?

Answers use tool results from your connected systems, and you can open the calls to inspect the source. AI can still misinterpret data or make mistakes. Check the evidence before relying on a result or approving an action.

What automation help is included?

Guidance, shared playbooks and automations we release for everyone are included with Dedicated. Bespoke automation builds are scoped separately. Can I get dedicated infrastructure?

Yes. Dedicated includes a reserved EdgeKeeper Server and database for your MSP. It is required for six through ten licensed users; above ten, talk to Brian. Your server and database are provisioned at signup, with no onboarding fee or separate setup wait. The server and the software stay ours to run; your data and what EdgeKeeper learns about your environment are yours.

Is this an automation platform I have to build on?

There is nothing to author to start asking questions. Connect your systems and use the read-only tools. When you want to automate a workflow, Dedicated gives you the foundation.
